Status Effects

Status Effects are buffs or debuffs that can be applied to characters, usually through Combat Pages or Passive Abilities. Negative status effects are commonly referred to as ailments in the game. Most effects are stackable, and all stacks of an effect are usually lost at the end of a scene.

• Burn Burn X
  At the start of the Scene, take X damage and subtract one third of the Burn stack. (Rounded down): At the end of the Scene, take X damage and subtract 1/3rd of the Burn stack. (Rounds down).
• Paralysis Paralysis X
  For the Scene, reduce the maximum roll of up to X dice by 3 when using pages. Cannot be lower than 1.: When the character plays any Combat Page, up to X random dice on it have their maximum roll value reduced by 3. The final roll can be lower than the Minimum Range, but not lower than 1.
• Bleed Bleed X
  For the Scene, take X damage and subtract one third of the Bleed
  stack every time the character rolls an Offensive die. (Rounded up): Each time the character uses an Offensive Die, they take damage equal to the number of stacks, then the number of stacks is reduced by 1/3 (rounded up).
• Fairy Fairy X
  Take X damage every time a die rolls. At the end of the Scene, take X damage and halve the stack. (Rounds down): The character takes X damage every time they roll a die. At the end of the Scene, take X damage and halve the stack. (Rounds down).
• Protection Protection X
  Take X less damage from attacks for the Scene.: Take X less damage from attacks. The damage is substracted before resistance multipliers are applied.
• Stagger Protection Stagger Protection X
  Take X less Stagger damage from attacks for the Scene.: Take X less stagger damage from attacks. The damage is substracted before resistance multipliers are applied.
• Fragile Fragile X
  Take X additional damage from attacks for the Scene.: Take extra damage from attacks equal to the stack. The damage is added before resistance multipliers are applied.
• Strength Strength X
  Offensive dice gain +X Power for the Scene.: Offensive dice used by the character gain X power.
• Feeble Feeble X
  Offensive dice lose X Power for the Scene. Cannot be lower than 1.: Offensive dice used by the character lose X power. Final result does not go below 1.
• Endurance Endurance X
  Defensive dice gain +X Power for the Scene.: Defensive dice used by the character gain X power.
• Disarm Disarm X
  Defensive dice lose X Power for the Scene. Cannot be lower than 1.: Defensive dice used by the character lose X power. Final result does not go below 1.
• Haste Haste X
  Boost all Speed values by X for the Scene.: Increase the Speed Dice's result by 1 per stack.
• Bind Bound X
  Lower all Speed values by X for the Scene.
  Cannot be lower than 1.: Reduce the Speed Dice's result by 1 per stack. Final result does not go below 1.
• Nullify Power Nullify Power
  Unaffected by Power-related effects for this Scene.: Dice played by and against the character are unaffected by power-related effects.
• Immobilized Immobilized
  Cannot act for the duration of the Scene.: The character cannot perform any actions for the scene.
• Charge Charge X
  Affects the properties of certain Combat Pages. 10 Charges can be stored at once.: Affects the properties of certain Combat Pages. 10 Charges can be stored at once, or 20 if equipped with the Triple-R suit passive.
• Smoke Smoke
  Amplifies damage taken by 5% per stack. At 9+ Smoke, all dice gain +1 Power. Stacks up to 10. -1 Smoke at the end of each Scene.: Take 5% more damage per stack, up to 10 stacks. If the character has 9 or more smoke, all dice gain 1 power. 1 stack is lost at the end of every scene.
• PersistencePersistent X
  Upon taking lethal damage, 80% chance to revive with some HP. This chance is halved each time the character revives.: Upon taking lethal damage, the character has 80% chance to lose 1 stack and revive with some HP. This chance is halved each time the character revives. One stack is lost at the end of each scene.
• Erosion Erosion X
  At the end of the Scene, take X damage and lose 1 stack of Erosion.
  When taking a hit, take bonus damage and Stagger damage equal to the amount of this status.: At the end of the Scene, the character takes X damage and loses 1 stack of Erosion. When taking a hit, the character takes bonus damage and stagger damage equal to the amount of this status.
